WE DIAGNOSED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WE DIDN'T JUST CLEAR IT When this Encore arrived, it had a check-engine light with P0496 EVAP System Flow During Non-Purge / High Purge Flow among the stored faults. Our technicians performed a Level 1 engine diagnostic rather than simply clearing the light and sending the vehicle down the road. The repair included replacement of the EVAP canister purge solenoid/valve. That's an important distinction when shopping for a used vehicle. Clearing a code takes seconds.
