?? BRANDED TITLE — READ THIS BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE
This vehicle carries a Manufacturer Buyback / Lemon Law title brand. Porsche repurchased it from its original owner in 2019 under lemon law, and the brand has appeared on every title record since. It is permanent, it follows the car forever, and CARFAX does not extend its Buyback Guarantee to this vehicle as a result.
What that means for you, plainly: a branded title reduces resale value — published industry guidance puts the discount at roughly 15% to 30% below an identical clean-title car, and Kelley Blue Book's figure for branded titles generally runs 20% to 40%. It can also make financing harder, since some lenders will not write against a branded title and others price the risk in. Insurance is normally available but may be valued differently at claim time. When you eventually sell this car, the brand will still be on it.
What CARFAX does not tell us: what the original defect was. That information exists — in most states the manufacturer must disclose in writing both the defect that caused the buyback and the repair performed. Ask us for that documentation and ask any Porsche dealer to pull the VIN's repair history before you commit.
