This isn't a vehicle we simply washed and put on the lot. It went through our shop at Ridgeline Automotive, where we invested $1,442.75 in current reconditioning before offering it for sale. That included four new tires, four new TPMS sensors, front sway-bar links, wiper blades, a full-synthetic oil service, inspection and road testing, along with correcting missing/loose transmission hardware discovered during inspection. PREMIUM TRIM + ALL-WHEEL DRIVE This isn't the base Encore. It's the Encore Premium AWD, combining Buick's more upscale trim with a compact footprint that's easy to live with around town. CARFAX confirms the Premium trim, 1.4L engine and all-wheel-drive configuration. It also shows 25 service history records, three previous owners, personal use and Colorado as the most recent state of ownership. For Colorado driving, we especially like the combination of a small SUV footprint and AWD. It's easy to park and maneuver without giving up the higher seating position and year-round capability many SUV buyers want. $1,442.75 RIDGELINE RECONDITIONING This Encore went through our comprehensive inspection process before being offered for sale. Rather than simply noting what it needed, we addressed the items our technicians found. FOUR NEW KELLY ALL-SEASON TIRES We installed four new Kelly Edge Touring All-Season tires and mounted and balanced all four. We also replaced all four TPMS sensors rather than leaving the next owner to deal with aging or non-communicating sensors. The tire and TPMS work alone totaled $880.72. During the original road test, our technician noted a slight steering-wheel shake consistent with a tire balance issue and a TPMS warning with no pressures displaying. With the tires already due for replacement, we addressed the problem with the new tire package and TPMS sensors rather than passing it along to the buyer. NEW FRONT SWAY-BAR LINKS Our undercarriage inspection found the right-front sway-bar link beginning to make noise. We replaced the front sway-bar control links, using new NAPA components. That repair totaled $219.40. TRANSMISSION HARDWARE CORRECTED Our technician also discovered missing/loose transmission hardware during the undercarriage inspection. Instead of ignoring it because the vehicle still drove, we corrected it. That's a great example of why we put our inventory on a lift and inspect the underside rather than relying solely on an auction condition report. THREE NEW BOSCH WIPER BLADES Our inspection also identified worn wiper blades, so all three were replaced with Bosch wiper blades.
