The MV-1 (Mobility Vehicle-1) is the world's first purpose-built, factory-assembled wheelchair-accessible vehicle , engineered from the ground up rather than retrofitted from an existing minivan . Key Design & Features Factory-Built Accessibility: Unlike aftermarket conversions that cut into floors and weld ramps, the MV-1 was designed structurally around mobility needs, resulting in a rugged body-on-frame build. Built-In Ramp: Features an integrated, slip-resistant side-entry ramp (manual or power-operated) that stores flat under the floor, preserving interior cabin space. It supports up to 1,200 lbs. Seating Layout: Accommodates up to five or six passengers total, including space for one or two wheelchair users. The primary wheelchair position is up front next to the driver, allowing the passenger a clear forward view. Wide Doorways: Features an oversized side door and a low step-in height that meets or exceeds Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. Powertrain & Build: Powered by a dependable Ford V6 or V8 engine and automatic transmission, built using a durable truck-like frame.
