Gallery Junction 714-831-1226 Gallery Junction presents this 2006 Ford GT was reportedly loaned to American racing driver Mario Andretti to be driven as a celebrity parade car at the 2006 Indianapolis 500 before it was sold to its first owner the following year. It is finished in Midnight Blue over Ebony leather and was ordered with all four factory options, including forged aluminum BBS wheels, painted White stripes, a McIntosh stereo system, and gray-painted brake calipers. Power is provided by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 linked with a six-speed manual gearbox and a helical limited-slip differential. This Ford GT is now offered with a window sticker, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title. Andretti’s signature adorns the engine bay, and a photo of the 1969 Indy 500 winner in the car is included in the sale. The GT took inspiration from the GT40 racing cars of the 1960s and features an extruded-aluminum space frame, roll-bonded floors, and aluminum body panels. This example is one of 190 finished in Midnight Blue for the model year and features optional over-the-top White stripes and Ford GT graphics as well as HID headlights, fog lights, side air intakes, a vented hood, a front splitter, an aftermarket rear diffuser, and a dual center-exit exhaust system. Records indicate that clear paint protection film was applied to the front section of the nose, the full front trunk lid, the rocker panels, the mirror caps, and the fenders in 2009 Factory-optional BBS forged lightweight aluminum wheels measure 18” up front and 19” out back and are mounted with Bridgestone tires. The passenger-side wheels were repaired in May 2021. The Brembo braking system features four-piston monoblock calipers with cross-drilled and ventilated rotors that measure 14” up front and 13.2” out back. The cockpit is trimmed in Ebony leather, and rubber mats cover bare aluminum floors. Manually adjusted seats were designed by Sparco and feature carbon-fiber shells with GT40-style ventilation grommets and harness slots. The console on the center tunnel houses rotary climate controls, and amenities include a McIntosh CD stereo, air conditioning, remote keyless entry, and push-button ignition. The left and right airbag inflators were replaced in 2016 and 2018, respectively. The window sticker notes initial delivery to Jimmy Vasser Ford of Calistoga, California, and lists factory equipment, colors, options, and a total vehicle price of $166,945.
