2005 Chevrolet SSR LS

Gateway Classic Cars of Dallas is excited to digitally represent this 2005 Chevrolet SSR, a vehicle that combines bold design with modern comfort. With its 6.0L V8 engine and smooth automatic transmission, this SSR delivers a driving experience that is both powerful and effortless. The Bermuda Blue Metallic factory paint looks quite distinctive on this car. Not only was it offered by GM for a few short years, but also it makes this example a bit more noticeable than the yellow and black SSRs we often see. There are terrific features to remind you of the Advance Design trucks that inspired this retro design, including the grille and full running boards. And just that iconic classic, the look of the SSR was to have a pickup with plenty of custom street machine attitude. You see it in factory pieces, like the flush-fitting bed cover and intricate alloy wheels with larger and wider rear ones to give this an aggressive stance. While this has a terrific coupe-like profile, one of the things that really keeps the SSR in demand is the ultra-cool folding hardtop. With the touch of a button, the roof neatly stows away without a trace to give this the look of a roadster pickup. In fact, the exterior Blue flows from the rear and in-between the two Black seats to the center console. So there is a well-coordinated look inside and out that you expect from a true street machine. Because this is also a modern build, it comes loaded with all the best amenities. This includes power seats, power windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, tilt steering column, cruise control, cup holder, dual front airbags, side airbags, anti-lock brakes, power steering, and an AM/FM/CD changer stereo. And because you have both a rear wind deflector and cold-blowing air-conditioning, you can enjoy top-down motoring even at noon in the summertime. This 2005 model represents a pivotal year in SSR's short run. The motor was upgraded to the fuel-injected 6.0-liter LS2 unit, and this still has its numbers-matching V8. This was a nice step forward in power that is furthered on this example with a performance air intake system. The four-speed automatic transmission is a stout unit built to handle this V8's power, and at the same time, it provides silky smooth shifts all the way into overdrive. So while this was built to look like a truck, this also was made to drive like a muscle machine. That's why you have tubular control arms on the rear suspension, rear sway bar, and four-wheel power disc brakes.
