2004 Honda S2000 Base Convertible

This 2004 Honda S2000 is one of the cars from our private collection here at CITEA Motors, and it’s a car we built with the intention of being much more than just something that looks good sitting in a garage.

This is an AP2 S2000, representing the second half of the S2000 production run. The AP2 brought several important updates over the earlier AP1 cars, and it has become one of the most desirable versions of the S2000 among enthusiasts.

The car has a clean title and clean Carfax, and currently shows approximately 150,000 miles.

One of the biggest highlights is the finish. We completely painted the car in-house in Honda’s Apex Blue, and the photos honestly don’t do this color justice. In person, the color has a ton of depth and really transforms the look of the S2000. The combination of the blue paint, aggressive bodywork, and carbon fiber gives the car a very purpose-built appearance without losing the character that makes an S2000 special.

Exterior / Bodywork

The car has been fitted with a number of quality enthusiast-focused parts, including:

* J’s Racing front fenders
* J’s Racing rear fenders, modified and molded into the body
* Seibon Carbon S2000 CR-style rear wing
* Spoon front bumper
* Custom bodywork and paint completed in-house

The J’s Racing fenders give the car a significantly more aggressive stance and help accommodate the overall track-oriented setup. The rear fenders have been modified and molded rather than simply bolted on, giving the bodywork a much cleaner finished appearance.

The Seibon carbon S2000 CR-style wing adds to the overall look while keeping the car unmistakably S2000.

Track-Oriented Chassis Setup

This S2000 wasn’t just built to look like a track car — we set it up with the intention of actually being driven hard.

The Spoon front bumper has been fitted with active brake ducts, designed to direct additional airflow toward the front brakes and help manage rotor temperatures during aggressive driving.

We’ve also replaced every bushing on the car with solid bushings, significantly tightening up the chassis and reducing unwanted movement compared to the original rubber components.

Additional subframe support bars have also been installed along with KW coilovers, giving the car a much more controlled and planted feel.

The result is a chassis that feels substantially more purposeful than a stock S2000. It’s responsive, tight, and set up with enthusiastic driving in mind.

Drivetrain

We recently completed a clutch replacement, including a lightened flywheel and a clutch designed for a more direct, engaging driving experience.

The exhaust setup retains the OEM stock exhaust, paired with a J’s Racing header. This keeps the car from becoming unnecessarily loud while still giving the engine a more aggressive character and allowing the header to complement the rest of the setup.

Overall Condition

The car runs and drives with no issues, and everything you’d want to work on an S2000 is functioning properly.

The convertible top works, the car drives well, and overall it is in great condition considering the mileage and the fact that it has been built with spirited driving in mind.

This is a very unique S2000 for someone looking for something beyond a completely stock example. It has the classic AP2 platform, an aggressive J’s Racing/Spoon-inspired appearance, a high-quality paint finish, and a chassis that has been extensively upgraded with actual performance driving in mind.
