2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LS

These 04/05 Duramaxs are the pinnacle of these motors and are highly sought after. The first generation Silverado/Sierra began in 1999 and would continue until 2007 with some subtle styling changes throughout that time. One of the largest game changers for the the 3/4 and 1-ton variants was the introduction and mass production of the Duramax diesel engines mated to the Allison automatic transmission. They were an instant hit among the working class, haulers and toy hauler groups and would finally start to compete with Ford and Dodge whom had had their own success for about 10 years before GM's partnerships with Duramax which GM owns but with a whole lot of moving parts with the block coming from Germany.
