1997 Pontiac Firebird

When the 4th-generation Firebird debuted for 1993, it came packing a new standard of performance. A new LT1 5.7-liter V8 (essentially borrowed from the Corvette) meant 0-60 in just 5.5 seconds and a quarter-mile time of around 14.0 seconds. The Firebird Formula and Trans Am shared this powerhouse, which could be had in 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic form. Indeed, apart from slightly different front and rear styling and some standard feature content, these two high-performance Firebird brothers were essentially the same. Here we have a pampered, one-owner Firebird Formula with just 31k miles that must be seen and driven to be believed. Look closely and you'll see an arrow-straight body and incredible original paint that looks more like 3 years old than nearly 30. That paint is the rare and gorgeous Cayenne Red (Red-Orange) that's a nice change from the more typical Black, Silver, White or Bright Red. Factory-issued chrome 16-inch wheels wearing Goodyear performance tires round out this 'bird's head-turning looks. And yes, it has T-tops to maximize the fun factor on those nice sunny cruises. A clean Carfax is included as well. Inside, apart from the common wear on the driver's left side bolster, the Formula's interior looks factory fresh. Look around (or at the included window sticker) and you'll see this Formula is loaded with luxury features, including A/C, power windows/locks/mirrors, tilt wheel, cruise control and an AM/FM/CD audio system with an equalizer. Out on the road, this Firebird flies effortlessly, with agile handling and strong braking (4-wheel discs) in addition to its ripping performance and easy high-speed cruising ability.
