1996 Ford F-250 XLT Extended Cab Long Bed — One-Owner Southern California Truck — 96K Miles

Every once in a while, we step outside of Toyota Land for something that is simply too good to pass up, and this 1996 Ford F-250 XLT is exactly that kind of truck.

I bought this truck for two reasons. First, because it was soooooo clean. And second, because it immediately took me back to the early days of Tyacke Motors. When I was a young kid growing up around the dealership, these were the trucks we sold. Clean, low-mileage, well-cared-for F-150s and F-250s like this were everywhere on our lot. The minute I saw this one, it brought back a lot of memories, and I knew I had to buy it.

This is an absolutely exceptional one-owner Southern California F-250 with just 96,000 original miles, and it has spent its entire life in Chula Vista, California. Finished in classic green over a gray cloth interior, this truck is about as honest, original, and well-preserved as a 30-year-old Ford gets.

Under the hood is Ford’s 5.8-liter V8 small block, paired with an automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. It’s a fantastic old-school combination—simple, proven, and exactly what you want in a classic F-250.

This is an XLT Extended Cab Long Bed and is very well equipped for its era, including power windows, power door locks, cruise control, tilt steering, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cloth seating, carpeted floors, six-passenger seating with a fold-down center armrest, an 8-foot bed, and factory dual fuel tanks.

And then there are the details that make this truck so much fun.

The dash still houses its original factory cassette deck, and underneath the rear seat is a wonderfully period-correct Kenwood 10-disc CD changer. But our favorite piece is hanging underneath the center of the dash: a full-on, very-1990s CB radio—and yes, it works perfectly! You simply couldn't script a better collection of period accessories for a truck like this.

Cosmetically, this F-250 is phenomenal. The body is laser straight, with no road rash, no rock chips, and not a single noticeable ding or dent. The factory chrome bumpers are straight and beautiful, the paint presents exceptionally well, and the truck retains the wonderfully original appearance that makes these increasingly difficult to find.

The interior is every bit as impressive. It is smoke-free and exceptionally well preserved, with no rips, tears, excessive wear, or abuse. The seats, carpet, dash, door panels, controls, and trim all reflect the life this truck has lived. It was clearly owned by someone who cared about it.

It also comes with an excellent documented service history and a clean CARFAX with no reported accidents or damage history.

We have thoroughly gone through, serviced, and inspected the truck, including Brand-new tires all the way around, new intake manifold gaskets, new clutch master cylinder, new brakes, new mass airflow sensor, new oxygen sensors, fresh fluids, fresh filters, and additional maintenance as needed. Everything has been addressed so the next owner can simply get in and enjoy it.

Most importantly, it runs and drives absolutely beautifully. It feels tight, smooth, quiet, and incredibly well cared for—the kind of truck where the condition tells the story long before you ever look at the odometer.
