1974 Volkswagen Type 2 Bus California Bus, 1.8L Air-Cooled Flat-Four, 4-Speed Manual, Excellent Floors This solid 1974 Volkswagen Type 2 Bus was built in November 1973 and has spent its life in California. Originally finished in red, it received an older repaint in classic period Volkswagen orange and retains a wonderfully straightforward, honest presentation. Powered by Volkswagen's air-cooled 1.8-liter flat-four and paired with a four-speed manual transmission, this is a clean, usable Bay Window Bus with a notably solid, rot-free body and excellent floors. It is offered with a clear California title. The 1.8-liter air-cooled flat-four starts readily, runs and idles smoothly and provides the familiar character that makes these Volkswagen Buses so enjoyable to drive. The four-speed manual transmission shifts nicely through the gears, while the brakes and suspension feel good and provide confident road manners. The lights, turn signals and wipers are all functioning. The fuel gauge operates but does not read accurately. The Bus has been regularly maintained and runs and drives well.
