Power is provided by a non-numbers-matching 496ci stroker V8 with a 440 block built by Barbara Ann Spiro and backed by a 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission built by FB Performance Transmissions; this is blanketed and rated for 750 horsepower. The engine is reported to produce 500 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque at the wheels between 4,500 and 6,000 rpm. Underhood features include a 570 UltraDyne camshaft with solid lifters and 906 ported and polished heads, Three 2-barrel carburetors (6 Pack), an MSD ignition, power steering and finned, cast aluminum valve covers. .
