1969 Porsche 911S Coupe * VIN 1193011213 * Engine No. 6391720 - Matching * Transmission No. 7196902 - Matching * Certificate of Authenticity * Completed May 19, 1969 A beautifully restored, numbers-matching 1969 Porsche 911S Coupe presented in its original color combination of Bahama Yellow (6805) over Black upholstery. As both the final year of the 2.0-liter 911S and the first year of the long-wheelbase chassis, the 1969 911S holds an important place in early 911 history, pairing the high-revving character of the original S model with improved stability, road manners, and drivability. Factory options include a left-side antenna, dashboard loudspeaker, and Michelin tires. The paintwork is in impeccable condition, with excellent gaps and panel fit. The interior has been completely reupholstered and features a VDM steering wheel with deluxe butterfly, VDO instrumentation, and Blaupunkt Blue-Dot AM/FM radio. Restored Fuchs alloy wheels are mounted to Pirelli Cinturato CN36 185 70 R15 tires. The undercarriage has been restored to factory specification and is solid and rust-free. According to the original maintenance record booklet, this 911S was delivered on February 9, 1969, by Garage Etoile Porsche Service in Benningen, Germany, with seven miles recorded. Dealer service entries from 1969 to 1971 further document the 911's early history, including its importation to the United States by 1970, with subsequent servicing recorded by Pray Porsche Audi Corp. in Greenwich, Connecticut, and Holbert's Porsche Audi Inc. in Warrington, Pennsylvania. In 2020, the 911 was sourced by a Southern California collector and selected as an ideal candidate for a comprehensive restoration. The work was entrusted to Kundensport under the direction of Ed Palmer from 2023 to 2024. The restoration included a complete disassembly, media blasting, metalwork, bodywork, paint, undercoating and seam sealing, suspension restoration, electrical work, sub-assembly restoration, chrome, rubber seals, trim, CAD plating, upholstery, wheel refinishing, tire replacement, transmission, engine, and final assembly. The scope of work reflects more than 600 hours of body work and a restoration estimate exceeding $114,000, underscoring the depth and quality of the project. Mechanically powered by the matching 2.0-liter flat-six engine producing 170 horsepower, paired to the matching 5-speed manual transmission with a four-wheel disc braking system. This 911S delivers the free-revving, mechanical character that makes the early S one of Porsche's most celebrated driver's cars. Mechanical work was carried out with equal attention to detail. Earlier engine work by Burnham Performance included assembly of the 2.0-liter engine, case saver installation, line boring, rear perimeter stud time-cert work, crankshaft inspection and polishing, rod resizing and balancing, head repair, valve work, new guides, cylinder boring, chain housing components, timing chains, tensioner arm upgrades, oil lines, gasket kit, and related hardware. In 2020, Burnham Performance also rebuilt the throttle bodies, including machining oversized throttle plates, bushings, aluminum link rods, and rod ends; machining bearing sleeves; disassembling the stacks; Dow-finishing the stacks; and installing MFI fuel line support. Complete with its original maintenance record booklet, owner's manual, spare wheel, and Blaupunkt radio manual, this Bahama Yellow 911S Coupe represents an excellent opportunity to acquire a beautifully restored, numbers-matching example of one of the most desirable early long-hood 911s.
