1965 Dodge Coronet

Here at Carroll Street, we get our fair share of magnificent Mopars. Take for example the stunning 1965 Coronet 500 we have here. This car was treated to an incredible, no-expense-spared nut-and-bolt restoration that makes this Dodge a dynamite example of "Show with the Go". Look closely and you'll see a rock-solid and arrow-straight body with correct and beautiful white paint that's looks a foot deep and it's tastefully accented with brilliant chrome and stainless-steel trim. The color-matched wheels feature period-cool "dog-dish" hubcaps and redline tires that combined with the "Ram Charger"-style hood scoop give the Coronet a commanding presence. This car is so immaculate underneath that it earns our "Lasagna Car" status, meaning the underside is so clean that we'd gladly eat our Sunday pasta off of it. The interior is as pristine as the body, with everything from the headliner to the door panels to the dash to the upholstery on down to the carpet looking factory fresh. The original AM radio still resides in the dash while a set of aftermarket under-dash auxiliary gauges, a big "Autometer" tach and a modern gear selector all make for a few worthwhile upgrades inside. Under that aggressive hood scoop sits a built 440 V8 engine that features milled heads, an Edelbrock Performer intake and carb setup, a Mopar Performance cam and a set of Doug Thorley headers that send the exhaust through a set of burbling Flowmaster 40 mufflers. The 440's output is estimated at a healthy 450-500 horsepower and all that power goes to the 3.91 Sure-Grip rear end via a stout 727 Torqueflite automatic transmission. Fire it up and you know you're in for a good time with the rocking soundtrack the big engine puts out. Lean on it and the Coronet has no problem pinning you to the seat.
