1962 Chevrolet Nova

Big block. Big blower. Big attitude. This Chevrolet Nova is anything but subtle. Built with unmistakable old-school Pro Street attitude, this Nova combines classic Chevrolet styling with a 454 cubic-inch big-block V8, polished BDS supercharger, dual Edelbrock carburetors, massive rear rubber, and a competition-inspired interior. Finished in sinister gloss black, the car has a commanding presence before the engine ever fires. Then there's the polished blower and massive forward-facing scoop rising through the hood-a pretty clear indication that this isn't your average Nova. Exterior: The Nova wears a deep gloss black finish that gives the car a clean, aggressive appearance while allowing the chrome and polished components to stand out. Classic Nova styling remains intact with its chrome grille, bumpers, headlight surrounds, body trim, door handles, mirrors, and Chevrolet badging. The combination preserves the recognizable character of the original car while the Pro Street modifications give it an entirely different personality. Of course, the defining exterior feature is the polished supercharger and intake scoop protruding through the hood. It dominates the view from virtually every angle and gives the Nova the unmistakable appearance of a traditional blown street machine. A staggered wheel-and-tire combination completes the look, with narrower front rubber and substantially wider rear tires filling the quarters. Blown 454 Big-Block V8: The centerpiece of this build is its 454 cubic-inch Chevrolet big-block V8. Sitting on top of that big block is a highly polished BDS supercharger feeding a pair of Edelbrock four-barrel carburetors. Above the dual-carb setup is a massive polished forward-facing scoop, creating one of the most recognizable looks in old-school American performance. The engine compartment carries the same level of visual impact, featuring polished valve covers, tubular headers, braided performance lines, AN-style fittings, aluminum engine-bay panels, and extensive polished hardware. The belt-driven blower assembly dominates the front of the engine, while the polished aluminum components contrast beautifully against the Nova's black exterior. This is an engine bay designed to be seen. Pro Street Interior: Open the door and the Nova's performance theme continues. The cabin has been extensively modified while retaining portions of the car's classic interior character. Black and bright blue bucket seats provide a dramatic contrast against the predominantly black cabin and are accompanied by blue racing-style harnesses. A three-spoke GT-style steering wheel sits in front of a custom digital instrument cluster, providing readouts for speed, rpm, fuel level, voltage, and mileage. Mounted prominently above the dashboard is a large performance tachometer with shift light, putting engine speed directly in the driver's line of sight. Between the seats is one of the more serious pieces of hardware in the cabin-a Cheetah SCS performance shifter. Its exposed, mechanical presentation fits the personality of the car perfectly and leaves no doubt about the performance focus of this Nova. A roll bar/cage structure extends through the passenger compartment and rear interior, adding another unmistakable Pro Street element to the build. Fuel System & Rear Compartment: The performance modifications continue into the rear of the Nova. The trunk houses a large aftermarket fuel cell with performance plumbing and AN-style fittings, along with a rear-mounted battery. It's a functional, purpose-built arrangement that fits naturally with the rest of the car. Rather than hiding its performance hardware, this Nova embraces it.
