1955 MG TF

The MG TF, launched in October 1953, epitomizes the marque's heritage. Created to boost declining TD sales, the TF was the last of the T-series Midget cars before the MGA debuted in fall 1955. Retaining the TD's frame and drivetrain, the TF featured a subtle yet effective facelift. The front fenders were reshaped to integrate the headlights, moving away from the T-series' pre-war look. MG also shortened and raked the front grille, lowering the hood for better aerodynamics. Inside, standard individual bucket seats provided a sportier feel. The proven XPAG engine received TD Mark II upgrades, with larger carburetors, a higher compression ratio, and larger valves, increasing power output to 58 hp. This blend of enhanced performance and classic MG style continues to captivate collectors and enthusiasts. With just over 9,600 units produced by 1955, the TF remains a prized collectible. This particular MG TF, finished in stunning MG Red with a Black interior and new Tan convertible top, has recently been serviced and is ready to drive. Restored by marque specialist Mike Goodman in 2000, it has been driven just a few hundred miles since.
