1936 Ford Sedan Delivery

In 1936 Ford introduced the Model 48 as their main product. It was an update on the previous V8 powered model and would receive an annual refresh before be completely redesigned in the early 40's. The combination of price, practicality and good looks sent sales soaring past their rival Chevrolet. They were offered in 10 different body styles with this beautiful '36 being the Sedan Delivery version. This is such a neat car and you don't see many of these especially done up to this level. The body is very solid, straight and is painted in a nice Burgundy metallic that has a beautiful shine. This is then accented with custom pinstriping and hand painted graphics. The original style chrome front and rear bumpers are cleanly mounted in place and look great with no pitting. The same can be said for the stainless trim throughout and the classic greyhound front ornament. It still has the factory style top insert which is in great condition. The glass is all tinted and it still has the functioning pop out windshield and functional cowl. The lights all work and it has the old school blue dots on the taillights. A third brake light has been added in the rear window for extra visibility. Swan neck mirrors are in place on both sides and it also has a windshield wiper post although it is never driven in the rain. It rides on nice American Racing wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires and it does have a taller tire in rear to give it a nice stance.

Open the 4 piece louvered hood and you will find this Ford is still Ford powered! Turning the tires is a rebuilt 302ci Ford V8 that runs great. It has a polished Edelbrock RPM intake, Edelbrock valve covers, and a polished Edelbrock 4 barrel carb. Everything is very cleanly done with a nice smooth painted firewall that is all free of any clutter. It runs cool with an aftermarket radiator with electric fan. Continuing down the Ford drivetrain you will find the smooth shifting C4 automatic transmission and Ford 9 inch rear with 3.25 gears. It is set up to be a nice driver and cruises both down the highway and around town well. The brakes are power assisted and it has discs up front with a Mustang II front end.

The interior is done in Gray cloth and is in excellent condition throughout. It has dual bucket seats that sit to each side of the control panel for the power seat controls. The dash is done fully in custom wood and even has custom wood knobs and switches. The Classic Instruments gauges are nicely recessed and it has adjustable vents in place as well. On the dash you will notice various LEDs which are all your indicators. The door panels have custom wood arm rests and power window controls. Open the rear door to the left and you will find the car offers a ton of additional storage room. Whether it is car show gear or instruments for your next gig this car has a ton of space.

This is a super cool car the runs out great and shows very well. Since you don't see them often it gets a ton of attention and always draws a crowd.
