This '34 is an all-steel, full-fendered, suicide door street rod with a 392ci Hemi, and it underwent a frame-off restoration just 4K miles ago! During the restoration the whole undercarriage was painted and a Mustang II style front end with independent front suspension, rack & pinion, coil-overs, and tubular upper control arms was added. The soft-top section of the roof was filled in with ribbed steel and the rear fenders were cut to add frenched teardrop taillights. The car was then treated to a very high-quality paint-job in Wine Red metallic. The paint still looks deep and glossy with only a few imperfections. Accenting the red paint is a set of subtle gold pinstripes that follow the raised body line around the car. The front view of this Ford features a vertical chrome shield-shaped grille and swooping front fenders, with large chrome Ford headlights mounted between. Below is a curved chrome bumper with turn signals mounted to it. A chrome hood spine leads your eyes from the chrome grille back to the chrome-framed crank-out windshield that's flanked by elegant chrome swan-neck side mirrors. The overall look is simply captivating! Moving around to the side of the car, the first thing you'll notice the lack of hood side-panels and the massive Hemi engine that's literally spilling out of the engine bay. When you finally peel your eyes away from the engine, you'll see that the front and rear fenders are linked by steel running boards topped with correct ribbed black rubber - allowing you to comfortably step inside through the suicide doors. Curved chrome door handles add to the whole look, as do the smoked glass windows. Perfectly complementing the look and stance of this car are a staggered set of polished 5-spoke American Racing Torque Thrust wheels (15's up front and 17's in the rear) all wrapped in Mastercraft Stratus AS tires. At the rear of the car you'll find the aforementioned frenched taillights, another chrome bumper, a gas fill on the lower valence, black body welting, and a third brake light mounted in the window. A quick look under the rear of the car reveals a Mallory electric fuel pump and inline filter back by the gas tank, a leaf springs & shocks rear suspension, and a newer exhaust that sounds incredible Under the hood of most street rods from this era you'll typically find a 350ci small block Chevy V-8. All those folks with 350's are going to stare with disbelief and jealousy when you pull up in this '34 with a big 392 Hemi packed under the hood! According to recent owners, this engine was rebuilt less than 500 miles ago - it was hot-tanked, bored .40 over, the crankshaft was balanced, the piston rods and bearings were replaced, and a hot Clay Smith cam was added (we have no receipts for this work). We've been told that this beast of a V-8 is now 500 horsepower, and once you've driven it - we think that you'll agree that sounds about right. Under the engine is an extra-capacity oil pan and a new high-torque starter, while on top is a an aluminum intake with dual-quad Edelbrock carburetors and an aluminum oval-shaped air cleaner. Atop the heads are a set of finned Mickey Thompson valve covers that take the look of the engine to a new level. Other highlights include an working aftermarket A/C system, braided fuel lines with A/N fittings, a fuel pressure regulator, a new distributor and ignition system, a big electric puller fan on the radiator, and headers. The powerful V-8 is mated up to a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels through a 9 Ford rear axle. Stopping power comes from front disc and rear drum brakes with a duel reservoir master cylinder (mounted underneath on a frame rail) and newer lines. As if this engine bay wasn't already cool enough, there's a faded autograph from non-other than Big Daddy Don Garlitz (the godfather of drag racing) on the firewall! When
