1929 Ford Model A Pickup Ford's 1929 Model A pickup truck was based on its Model A car. It used the same four cylinder, 40 horsepower engine. Ford's pickup was available in open and closed cab versions. Factory price for the open cab pickup was $430, while closed cab trucks started at $445. Ford sold more than 212,000 trucks for 1929. Thehenryford.org  For consignment, a 1929 Ford Model A pickup showing 403 miles, but the true miles are unknown. This one packs a 350ci V8 under the hood, a Brookville frame underneath, and a custom interior in the cab. Our consignor states the truck has 403 miles since build. Exterior A stunning presentation decked out in two stage Sandstone Tan and Black, all hunkered down on 15-inch wheels with Diamond Back Classic wide white walls that have an early 2025 date code. It's unmistakable Model A up front with headlights with polished buckets on a light bar that crosses the black mesh grille within the body colored shell. A visor hovers over the vertical windshield and the entire cabin is one right angle after another with a perfectly flat and vertical rear wall with a small window that overlooks the monochromatic custom aluminum hard cover on the bed. Beneath it, richly stained dark wood planks present in stunning condition, contrasted by their polished rails. The roof is in great condition and so is the paint and body. We had to search, but the few imperfections include a couple of chips and some paint runs.  Interior Simple panels existed long before they thought about incorporating cupholders. Ours are decked out in lovely Saddle leather, smelling wonderfully, with both a stitched and header detail along with window crank. A low back bench in Saddle leather also includes a stitch detail and is surrounded by warm black walls and shell. The beauty parade continues up front where a 1940 Ford ivory steering wheel fronts a black and ivory dash lined with Stewart Warner Wings gauges all over a black carpeted floor, saddle kick panels, and black painted firewall. There's also a tachometer neatly tucked under the dash. The black headliner is contrasted by warm wooden accenting which also surrounds the doors.   Drivetrain The engine makes a nice presentation with bright valve covers and Chevrolet, yes Chevrolet, script in contrasting paint. It's a 350ci GM Goodwrench crate V8 with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, Walker radiator, and an air cleaner from a 1956 Chevy. Behind it lurks a rebuilt TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and power is routed to the Ford 9 rear with John's 31 spline axles, 2.75 gears, and TracLoc. The truck now runs on a 12 volt system and has an Optima Red Top battery. Undercarriage Our show worthy underside begins with stainless steel dual exhaust passing through Borla Pro XS mufflers on their way to a down turned rear exit. Brakes are on board as front disc and rear drum and suspension includes four bar hair pins with a transverse leaf spring up front and 4 bar with coil overs in back.  Drive-Ability Builds this nice usually translate to a congruous ride experience and that proves out here as well. No complaints as this street rod runs, sounds, tracks, handles, and brakes nicely.  he interior feels like a cigar lounge but we're not smoking anything inside this one! All functions available work as they should, and we deliver this one to the showroom floor.
